Meditation

We have been starting each day with meditation. After two weeks we completed a Y chart on meditation, then we wrote poems.
Here are some of our poems.

Meditation time.
I’m a bubble floating in the air
on a golden pathway to heaven.
I see a rainbow ahead.
The Holy Spirit flows through my body.
Open my eyes
and once again myself.
by Sabian

Flying through the air
heart pumps softer and softer.
Steps up to heaven
Getting lighter and lighter.
Closed eyes
Blood pumping through my body
Birds chirping
Squiggles behind my eyes
Gentle wind and
patterns in my head
Sitting stiff
Now I’m awake.
By Manaia

Relaxed in a comfortable position
floating in water.
My body weightless
going to heaven.
Rainbows behind my eyelids
a white angel in front of me.
Then back to normal
in the classroom.

Room 6 News by Tahlia

News for week 2.

Room 6 is having terrible trouble with cockroaches crawling in our desks.

Gregory is now happily settled into our class and he has made some friends.

We have learnt how to draw column graphs.

We had water battles for for Golden Time.

Water Fun for Golden Time

On Friday for Golden Time we had water battles. Some of us had water guns and some of us had water balloons and sponges. It was fun because it was so hot and it was nice and refreshing.

VoiceThread

I made a voicethread today … take a look here.

Technology Inquiry

We finished the Ignite Stage (stage1) of our inquiry by looking at what ICT stands for – Information Communication Technology. In our groups we then had to think of ICT’s in our classroom and put them into catagories on a T-Chart. Liam’s little sister, Lauren, was having a school visit and so she also joined in the work.

Saints500

The engines were tuned, and the riders ready for the big event. Room 7 children took part in the first Saints500  at school on Friday. Vehicles ranged from space ships to racing cars and much fun was had by eveyone!

Safe Walking

Today, Officer Trish walked with Room7  to the swimming pools. She taught us to stop at sneaky driveways and look for cars. We had to stop at every single driveway which was a little bit boring, but I think it was better than walkiing straight past. It also made us a lot safer.

Sid the Goat

I brought my goat Sid to school and everyone was all excited and shook up. Mrs. Rossouw made sure that we were all quiet.  Sid got 2 first prizes at the AMP Show. He does not like wearing the ribbons on his back so he tries to chew them to undo the bow. When he drives in the car he has to go in a box with just his head sticking out so that he can’t jump around in the car. Next week he is going back to the farm because he is getting too big and breaking the trees in our garden.

Safe Walking

IMG_2584Officer Trish came to talk to Room 7 about safe walking. We learnt the names of the road and kerb. She also told us that it is important that cars don’t stop on the yellow lines – if they do then other cars can’t see people trying to cross  the road. On Friday she is coming to walk with us to the pools to see if we are walking safely on the footpath.

Box Constuction

Last Friday Sarah  came to help Room7  to make box cars for the Saints 500.The girls looked after Isabella while we were busy. Today we painted the boxes so that they look good for the race on Friday.
